Grantee Feedback
Feedback from Our Grant Partners: 2021 Survey Findings
Listening and responsiveness to the field are core values for our foundation and an integral part of our approach to advancing racial justice. To help inform our work, we regularly engage the Center for Effective Philanthropy (C.E.P.) to conduct a survey of grant partners, inviting candid and actionable feedback from nonprofits we support. Thank you to the nonprofit organizations that took the time to complete the survey and provide us with your thoughtful feedback. As outlined in the Plan, we remain steady in our commitment to providing Unrestricted Operating Support to nonprofits that advance racial, social and economic equity. As the same time, we have refined our baseline criteria for all applicants and added several new special areas of focus. [Click here for the teleconference recording and slide presentation.]
Grantees Rate the Work of the Foundation, 2018
In 2018, the Weingart Foundation conducted a comprehensive survey of grantees and applicants in partnership with the Center for Effective Philanthropy (C.E.P.). As a part of this process, nearly 500 current Foundation grantees and recent applicants were invited to participate in a confidential online perception survey. The results of the survey give us assurance that nonprofits believe our strategies and practices are on the right track. We continue steadfast in our commitment to providing Unrestricted Operating Support to build nonprofit capacity, knowing that communities must lead the way in advancing racial and socio-economic equity. Nonprofit Partner Voices: Perceptions of the Weingart Foundation
In 2017 and 2018, the Weingart Foundation asked Harder+Company Community Research to facilitate listening sessions with its nonprofit partners. Regular feedback from the sector helps guide the Foundation as our Board of Directors and staff develop grantmaking priorities for the upcoming fiscal year. Harder+Company convened four meetings in October 2017 and two in March 2018 with leaders and development staff from 31 nonprofit organizations. Participants represented a mix of longtime grantees, newer grantees, and potential applicants. This document presents key findings from those six sessions. [Read the report.]
