California Foundations: 1999–2009
Growth Amid Adversity
This report is from The Center on Philanthropy and Public Policy at the University of Southern California. The Center’s landmark study of California foundations in 2001 chronicled the growing importance and impact of foundations in the state and across the nation with a particular focus on the 1990s, and provided a quantitative assessment of the size, structure, and scope of the state’s foundation community within the context of national trends and patterns. Now ten years later, The Center looks at the changes that have unfolded in the sector.
